registered for classes this morning.
taking yoga too. from what i've heard the yoga classes here focus on it as more of a meditation than an exercise. so that's a plus.
got my calc test back today, and i definitely didn't fail.
i was beaming all through class
then i had to go to st thomas where we discovered enstein's solution
to the problem of ~~st thomas~~ light
The entire time i was screaming to myself for the professor to stop

every season I thought, this is the first christmas without grandpa.
this is the first october,
first birthday,
my dad's first birthday,
first thanksgiving,
second memorial day
and really the only difference, for me at least, because he lived on the coast,
was a card with a ten-dollar check and shaky handwriting.
Grandma didn't even have shaky handwriting,
she typed everything either because her hands were porcelain
or because she had arthritis.

I think that it's a feeling of mortality. When I'm bleeding from
between my legs once a month, I feel more connected with
blades grass and the leaves made of them; that i'm autumn
and part of someone elses world in a beautiful, and
so sorry way. So that's mortality for a grand total of three months
a year. Now it's only that I love you. 'Cause now i'm
thinking about bass lines my circulatory system attempts
and i know they'll grow slow and melancholy, they'll
rust and I'll find out whether or not there's a god.

So i love you.
I loved my grandpa.
I loved my grandma.
I love this grandma since i think there's a grace period amidst life and death in which one can still refer to people in the present tense.

that's why i haven't been writing here (in minnesota);
because I use words like "conducive" and am too aware of the present tense.
